buying christams gifts for kids( fairness)?

I have 5 kids and the age ranges are 3,6,7,9,11
the 3 year old is the only girl. This year I hit the jackpot with her presents. I was able to buy her lots for her $100 budget I bought her: a vugo system and a idog with bag and 2 outfits+ 3 toddler cd’s, puppy in my pocket, 2 mini barbies, playmobile togo house + extra people, and a princess barbie house. the boys all I have bought them are a wii fit, 6 wii games, 8 nintendo sp games, 2 Game cube games, pillows,bathsets, a few puzzles and games and name brand backpacks and a few other odds and ends. Do you think the boys will be upset? what else should I get the boys?

I think it’s important you explain to them that some gifts cost very little, while others cost much more.

Our kids actually count the gifts, so it’s important that I explain that I spend the same on each of them. I do this several times during the holidays. No long speech, I just explain it very simply to them.

I have an aunt who favored one of my sisters over the rest of us. It’s very, very hurtful to everyone – except the favored one. That’s why I make sure they understand I love them each the same and I’m equal on what I spend. They may get some money and each may get a different amount – again, depending on what I spent on their presents. I make up any difference with money to them.

If you’re spending the same on each and explain it to the kids, they should understand. The three year old is too young, but I think the others will understand.
