Dressing the Pear Shape
Pear shaped gals need to focus on balancing the torso and the bust while disguising fuller hips and thighs. A-line or princess ball gown dresses suit this body type best. Try balancing your body with a shrug or shawl that will ward off the chill while flattering your upper half. Hairstyles should be balanced. Rather than sweep hair into an updo, consider a soft roller set style that adds some volume on the shoulders. Short haired gals should wear their hair down and full.

Although stilettos may be tempting for their height alone, most girls feel their best in shoes they can walk in. Opt for a mid heel in a one to two inch height in a neutral tone. Better yet, shop for a beige or nude shoe with a kitten heel and a pointy toe. This basic shoe style will work with every formal dress in your closet and will pair well throughout the year with denim jeans and a variety of skirts.
